Enlarges or reduces your images or photos with excellent results.

When you enlarge an image, it usually produces disastrous results - the higher the enlargement, the more distorted and blurred your original image gets.

However, this not necessarily has to be true, if you count on adequate tools. One of them is BenVista PhotoZoom Pro which can resize any image file with excellent results, thanks to its built-in, state-of-the-art interpolation algorithms.

The program allows you to choose among twelve image-resizing algorithms, including S-Spline Max, S-Spline XL, S-Spline, Lanczos, Bicubic, Mitchell and Bilinear, to name some. However, the ones which produce the best results are those of the S-Spline family, in particular S-Spline Max. Each one includes multiple ready-to-use presets, so in most cases you just need to select the resizing algorithm and the adequate preset to get high-quality enlarged or reduced images. Anyway, you can alternatively create your own profiles by tweaking the parameters provided under the "Fine-tuning" section, namely Sharpness, Film Grain, Artifact Reduction, Crispness, Vividness, Brighten Shadows and Fix Overexposure. You can set values ranging from 0 to 100 to each one of them, and save your combination by providing a profile name.

BenVista PhotoZoom Pro also allows you to resize multiple images or photos in one go, thanks to its batch mode. It lets you add multiple image files to a special panel, either individually or by folder, and apply the same resizing configuration to them all or specify a different configuration for one or some of them. And another key feature of this tool is that it can work both as a standalone application or as a plugin for some major image editors such as Adobe Photoshop and Corel PhotoPaint.

Finally, I would like to mention that you can divide the working area of the program's main window into two panels, both horizontally or vertically. This allows you to compare the results of applying two different algorithms and/or presets to the same image at a glance. The only disadvantage I could find during the review of this program is that it allows you to save your resized image(s) in a few image file formats only, namely TIFF, JPEG, PNG, BMP and TGA.

In a nutshell, I consider BenVista PhotoZoom Pro as one the best existing tools when it comes to resizing image files. I would honestly recommend it to anyone who requires enlarging or reducing images or photos, unless he/she requires saving them in other formats than the supported by this tool.

Not completely happy. I have water with rocks in the foreground and Photoshop clearly does a better job. On the other hand, the mountains in the background look soo much better with Photozoom.I can not pay for this as it is half/half.
