BenVista PhotoZoom Pro 5.1

If you happen to be into photo editing, either professionally or as an amateur, you have surely been asked many times to enlarge a photo.

However, this operation regularly produces very low-quality results, as you have surely noticed. If this is your case, BenVista PhotoZoom Pro will come in handy to you. This application allows you to enlarge a photo ─ or only a section of it ─ with as little quality loss as possible.

The program allows you to open your source file and – optionally – crop the area your want to work with. Then you can start adjusting the width, height, and resolution of the image, and select the aspect ratio behavior. You can specify the units you want to use ─ percentage, pixels, inches, millimeters, centimeters, picas, or points. However, you can also select your values from an extensive list of predefined dimensions, which include standard sheet, envelop, photo, and screen dimensions, among others.

At the same time, you can change the resize method at any time by selecting any of the twelve options provided. Besides, every method includes several presets for you to choose from to achieve high-quality results very quickly. Moreover, you can always tweak the "unsharp masking" parameters ─ the intensity and the radius ─ to customize your result. The program supports the S-Spline Max photo resizing algorithm, which is a proprietary and patented technology that allows you to enlarge your photos hundreds, and even thousands of times, with excellent results. However, there are also other related methods, known as the S-Spline and the S-Spline XL. All the resizing methods of the S-Spline family allow you to fine-tune the enlargement results by tweaking the sharpness, the film grain, and the artifact reduction values. If you happen to use your current resize settings frequently, you can save them as a "resize profile" and reuse them at any time with one click.

Finally, I will mention that this is the professional version of the BenVista PhotoZoom Classic application, which works in a similar way though with less features. To mention some of the differences, only the Pro version of the program includes the S-Spline Max algorithm and supports batch photo enlargement. Also, the Pro version installs a couple of plug-ins that allow you to use the BenVista PhotoZoom capabilities in other third-party applications, such as Corel Photo Paint or Adobe Photoshop. In short, this is an outstanding photo-enlarging tool that allows you to achieve professional results very easily.
